The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is the largest integrated health care system in the United States, providing care at 1,233 health care facilities across the country. Vecna’s SBIR-derived patient registration technology is now powering over 800 of these centers, with kiosks and software that streamline the patient experience and administrative processes. Vecna has deployed 4,500 freestanding kiosks, 540 desktops and 331 wall-mounted systems as part of the project. Their systems have had over 100 million interactions with 4 million more each month.
The technology was developed under the HHS SBIR program and since then, Vecna has partnered with hospitals and healthcare centers across the country to implement the system. With revenue from the success of its patient solutions side of the business, Vecna funded its robotics division, which is finding its niche in the logistics and warehouse industries. While the market for these robotics is currently valued at $1.9 billion, that number is expected to reach $22.4 billion by 2021. Vecna is working with major manufacturers, retailers and shippers to deploy the most complete range of mobile robotic solutions on the market.
Vecna also sells a suite of personal robotics, called the VGo series of robots. Controlled by a remote, VGo is a productivity improvement solution that enables a person to replicate himself in a distant location and have the freedom to move around as if they were present physically. These robots have enabled robotic telepresence for businesses, educators and students, and healthcare and service organizations.
